Businessman Audio Songs Promo Great
NTR and Ram Charan Fighting in RFC...
Mega power star Ram Charan’s Rachcha and
young tiger Jr. NTR’s Dammu movie are currently being filmed in Ramoji
Film City, Hyderabad. Both the movies are set to be action entertainers
and the titles speak volumes about their movie voltage. Raccha unit is
shooting crucial scenes and action episodes while Dammu unit will be
filming action sequences and the shoot continues till the next ten days.
Both the actors are trying to prove their mettle as NTR and Ram
Charan’s previous movies failed at the box office. Tamanna is sharing
the screen space besides Ram Charan in Rachcha while NTR will be
romancing with Trisha and Karthika in Dammu.

Review : Rajanna – A Stunning Period Drama ...

‘King’ Akkineni Nagarjuna will be hitting the screens tomorrow with a period drama ‘Rajanna’. We have been to an exclusive premiere show that was held in Prasad Labs.The movie has been directed by veteran scriptwriter Vijayendra Prasad and music has been composed by Keeravani. Rajamouli has supervised the action sequences in the film. Let us see how the movie stacks up.
Story :
The story of Rajanna has been narrated by Nagarjuna earlier, so we will not go into too much detail. But here is a brief account for those who are not familiar with it. The movie is set in the early 1950′s in the village of Nelakondapalli in Adilabad district. The entire story revolves around the lives of Rajanna ( Nagarjuna ) and his daughter Mallamma (Annie) and the sacrifices they make for the good of the people. Mallamma loses both her parents (Nagarjuna and Sneha) in her childhood and she grows up under the care of an elderly villager. She has a natural gift for singing and she is admired by all. Her song angers the Dorasani (Shwetha Menon) and she forbids Mallamma from singing ever again. A frightened Mallamma decides to head out to New Delhi to meet Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru and bring the difficulties of her people to his notice.
But she is pursued by Dorasani and her people even in Delhi. As she loses all hope, the story of Rajanna and his heroic struggle for the people of Nelakondapalli is narrated to Mallamma by her music teacher (Nasser). What does an inspired Mallamma do? Will she finally get to meet Nehru and solve the problems of her people? That is the story.
Performances :
First, a standing ovation to Baby Annie for a superb performance that will win her many awards. Another round of applause to Akkineni Nagarjuna for having the courage and conviction to come up with a good movie that stays true to the script.
Annie is outstanding in the role of Mallamma. Her expressions, mature portrayal of multiple emotions and her simple looks will endear her to the public. You will root for Mallamma as she goes about overcoming her obstacles one by one.
Nagarjuna has delivered an excellent and refined performance as Rajanna. His flowing mane and tall physique are perfectly suited for the role. He is outstanding in the action sequences and he has delivered the emotional lines well. Sneha is good in the limited role she has as Rajanna’s wife Lacchamma.
Shwetha Menon is good as the evil Dorasani. Nasser and Gandhi do well in their allotted roles. Satyadev is good in the role of Dilawar Khan. Mukesh Rishi exudes evil. Hema, Telangana Sakunthala and Vijay Kumar are good in their cameos. Ajay, Supreeth, Sravan and Pradeep Rawath are good as the four friends of Rajanna.
Plus Points :
The movie is narrated in a superb manner and the audience will connect very strongly with the emotional content. The song of Veyra Vey is one of the best ever to be picturized for its sheer emotional value. That song is sung to incite the people of Nelakondapalli to rise up in revolt. It ends up evoking a strong response from the audience as well. It shows mass hysteria at its best.
Some of the scenes will remain etched in your memory long after you walk out of the theater. The way in which the ‘assets’ of women are taxed and the subsequent reaction from Nagarjuna, the revolt of a boy in the Dorasani’s quarters, the climax fight sequence etc. will stand out.
M.M.Keeravani’s music breathes life into the movie. The background score and rerecording are top notch. The songs evoke a strong emotion as they are an integral part of the story. Amma Avani song nicely recaps the important events of the movie in pictures.
Rajamouli’s mark is seen in all the action sequences and it will act as a major attraction. Vijayendra Prasad did a good job with the script and direction.
Minus Points :
Nagarjuna’s introduction scene should have been etched out with more depth. The graphics work is not the best we have seen in recent times. A few cinematic liberties have been taken with historical facts.
The aftermath of the climax fight is not shown properly. What ultimately happens to Rajanna after the climax fight ? That should have been shown in a better and more complete way. The movie slows down slightly in a few areas.
Technical aspects :
Cinematography by Shyam K Naidu and Anil Bhandari is pretty solid throughout the film. The visuals are excellent and editing by Kotagiri Venkateshwara Rao is near flawless. Ravinder’s artwork is pretty good and feels authentic.
Verdict :
‘Rajanna’ is a marvelous tale that chronicles the triumph of human spirit in the face of adversities. Outstanding performances from Annie and Nagarjuna coupled with some fantastic music by Keeravani elevate the movie. Rajamouli’s action sequences and the strong emotional content will draw the crowds. Nagarjuna should be commended for staying true to the script and for coming up with such a well made period drama. Thumbs up for Rajanna. Don’t miss this one.
Naresh new movie 'Sakala Kala Vallabhudu'
Currently Naresh is busy with his next film under debutante Narayana's direction. This film is a remake of Bollywood hit Deewana Mastana. Sharwanand will be playing the other hero and Shriya is the female lead in this film. Naresh is already signed a film which is going to made in 3D format. Anil Sunkara is going to produce this film under AK Entertainments banner. The film has four heroes and Naresh is playing one of them.

So did he live up to Mahesh Babu fans expectations? Fans would love this album as it is packed with high energy songs. “Sir Vasthara” song seems to be the instant chartbuster. Much hyped Businessman theme has Mahesh Babu and Puri voicing few powerful lines.
This is first film for Thaman under Puri Jagannadh direction and the latter is known for extracting the best out of his music directors. Is Businessman album the best works of Thaman? We have to wait for the full tracks to come to a conclusion over it.
Happy Birthday Tamanna..........
Tamanna, who is among the top actresses in Tamil cinema, always dreamed of making big in Tollywood, but luck didn’t favor her in the past. All of a sudden she turned pretty busy in Tollywood this year. She scored a hit with 100% Love and her performance in Oosaravelli got rave reviews. Badrinath proved that she is a very good glamorous star.
Tamanna has many more big films on hand and she could be on top for the next couple of years. Let’s wish this beautiful actress a very happy birthday and all success.
Rajanna is getting terrific response
Gaganam went on to receive good feedback from the regular audience and somehow ended up as an average grosser at the box office. Rajanna is not completely non-commercial film as it has right emotions and heart touching sequences besides soulful music.
If Rajanna could get the same response from common audience, Nagarjuna’s belief in the film would turn out to be very true and it could even prove a winner at the box office.

The story of the film revolves around the central character Mallamma, an orphan girl who is being raised by an old man. The girl has a passion to sing and that has been strongly opposed by the Dorasani of the village as she feels that her songs have some intense emotion which can turn the entire village against her. But, poor girl couldn’t stop singing and as a result the dorasani kills the old man, locks the girl inside the house and set it ablaze. The girl escapes the mishap with the help of a music teacher and makes her way to Delhi to meet the then Prime Minister of India Jawahar Lal Nehru to complain against the atrocities of dorasani. The rest of the movie is all about how the girl meets the Prime Minister and fulfills the villagers and Rajanna’s wish.
Analysis:
The movie opens and concludes with a voiceover from Akkineni Nageswara Rao. The first hour of the film is narrated well with heavy sentiment scenes. The introduction of Nagarjuna is a bit late and will be exactly 10 minutes before the interval. The film offers lot of human emotions, patriotism and sentiment which are depicted in a convincing manner. The plot of the film is interesting and laudable. The director could have done better home work at the end.
The second half of the film slowly picks up post interval and leaves a good impression. The power packed dialogues and action episodes are a treat to watch on screen. We can see the mark of Rajamouli in action episodes and couple of songs. Gijigaadu and Veyyi Ra Veyyi songs are the best songs of the film. The screenplay of the film is predictable and lacks the wow factor. The Telangana accent of Nagarjuna is good. Keeravani needs a special mention for his wonderful background score and soundtrack. Overall, the film is watchable for decent performances from the lead star cast.
Performance:
The role played by Nagarjuna as Rajanna is suave and powerful. His histrionics will surely amuse his fans after long time. Pradeep Rawat, Ajay, Nassar, Supreeth and ‘Sye’ Chotu are good in their roles. Sneha is adequate as Lachuvamma. Baby Annie as Mallamma is the show stealer of the film. Her stellar performance is the backbone of the film. Keeravani brings the soul to the film with his wonderful background score and songs. Swetha Menon has delivered her best in a negative role. Mukesh Rishi has a limited role to play. Telangana Sakuntala is just ok.
Technicalities:
The cinematography by Shyam K Naidu is excellent. Graphics are tawdry. This is undoubtedly one of the best works of Keeravani in recent times. The art director has done a brilliant job in bringing out the nativity factor during Nizam era. Editing by Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao is up to the mark. The director’s choice of script is good but the execution part could have be better.
Final Word:
Watch the film for wonderful performances from Baby Annie, Nagarjuna and soulful music from Keeravani.
